Best thriller movies list

Wednesday, May 28th, 2008

I was sitting on WC few minutes ago, thinking about best thriller movies I watched, ever. First I cut off usual suspects like Goodfellas, The Godfather, Fight Club, Memento, The Silence of the Lambs, Vertigo. Not to speak about Sin City, The Matrix, Alien which I don’t even consider as thrillers.

So what’s left? Whole a lot …

The Hole
Swimming Pool
Naked Lunch
Eyes Wide Shut
The Shining
The Butterfly Effect
The Skeleton Key
Secret Window
1408
Jackie Brown
U Turn
The Cell

To be continued …

How to develop your aural sensitivity?

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

Here are three activities to increase your sensitivity to sounds in general.

First, listen to the sounds surrounding you at this moment. If you close eyes it might be easier to listen. Listen for sounds close to you as well as farther away. Notice which sounds you can feel in your body, especially in your chest and gut. Try to differentiate various parts and components of sound you’re listening.

Second, use tape recorder to capture some of the sounds around you. When you play the tapes back, try to identify and reimagine what made each sound.

Third, and the most complicated, think of sound from your childhood. Listen to it in your memory, describe it to a friend, and imitate it.

Cheapest Recipe

Monday, May 26th, 2008

I tried this and it tasted great…It is cheap and healthy, and most of all quick and easy to prepare. Guess who prepared it? My boss’s wife :) (you can imagine what my salary is like, a? :)

We are talking - ELDER FLOWERS - Yes, they are tasty and the food smells nice.

For this meal you’ll need following ingredients:

  • 2 eggs,
  • few elder flowers (American or European elder) - remove bigger stalks
  • salt, pepper (salty version) or sugar and cinnamon (sweet version)
  • some flour
  • some milk

Beat eggs, add flour and milk and season with salt or sugar - whatever you prefer more … make sure the mixture is denser, thus take it easy on milk … add at the end, if needed more.
And then come elder flowers - dip them in mixture and put in deep, hot oil for a minute till they get nice, golden color. And voila! Job done!

Elder omelette is another option. You know how to prepare omelette, right? (beat eggs, add elder flowers; some add flour and milk, some use just eggs…)
Easy and quick and I bet you haven’t tried it before!

Energy fears, world economy crash and weight loss

Sunday, May 25th, 2008

Convinced the planet’s oil supply is dwindling and the world’s economies are heading for a crash, some people around the country are moving onto homesteads, learning to live off their land, conserving fuel and, in some cases, stocking up on guns they expect to use to defend themselves and their supplies from desperate crowds of people who didn’t prepare.

But what this whole story has with weight loss you may ask. Well, the answer is quite simple: people will live much healthier. Recently I’ve stumbled upon few articles about survivalists preparations for world demise. I must admit that I don’t believe the situation will become that harsh but as old people say where is the smoke there is the fire as well. So stay tuned and start reading books about agriculture, survival in the wild because you never know.
In the meantime weight loss industry is slowly going down. Slowly but steadily. And that’s good news. People should return to the nature as much as possible. It’s still not too late.

What a tragedy!

A British teenage actor, Rob Knox, 18, playing a minor role in the upcoming “Harry Potter” film was stabbed to death during a brawl in London on Saturday, police said.

He was stabbed after he got caught up in a fight outside a bar in southwest London early Saturday, London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

Rob was playing Ravenclaw student Marcus Belby in the upcoming film “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince,” the sixth installment of the popular series set for release in November.

Everyone is shocked by the news!

Warner Bros., the studio that is producing the film, said it was shocked by the news.

Knox was one of five young men taken to various hospitals after the brawl, police said. Among them was a 21-year-old who has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The fight did not appear to be gang-related, police added, but it puts the number of violent teenage deaths in London at 14 so far this year!!!
