Can you learn foreign language in 40 hours?

Have you ever heard of speed learning? No? Read about this.

This method was supposedly “invented” by Mengele. Don’t know Mengele? Oh, well I am sure you heard about Adolf Hitler, and Mengele was Hitler’s brain. Get the idea? Mengele was Nazi doctor who was after the WW II transported to USA to develop ideas that was “worthy” to develop. And speed learning by this method sure was. Well, to be honest, I am not really sure if Mengele was the one who invented the concept, but surely he was the one who re-invented it. Enough about Mengele. He has done enough harm. Later on, NASA used this method when training astronauts.

Ok, it all started in 1924. Dr. Hans Berger was the first scientist who recorded the electrical brainwaves in humans. He named them Alpha rhythms (8 to 12 cycles per second); Beta brainwave rhythms (13 to 30 cps Hertz - Hz); Delta rhythms 0.05 to 3 cps (Hz) and Theta brainwave rhythms (4 to 7 cps Hz).

To put it more clear, people live in Beta consciousness 16 hours daily – it is alert activity with our left hemisphere dominating our brain. When you close your eyes and relax for one-minute, your brainwaves morph into Alpha cycles per second (Hz), an altered state of consciousness. It releases chronic stress through alert relaxation and often leads to creative intuition. This is the state when speed learning is possible.

Method is totally controlled by certain machines, that monitor your heart beat, depth of breathing etc. Of course you are attached to this diodes (looks like you just woke up in Matrix) through which your body functions are controlled in order for speed learning to be successful.

Specialists say it is possible to learn foreign language by this method in 40 to 80 hours. It is also true that the week after the training you don’t “feel” as you learned anything, since the knowledge must “settle down”. That means the optimal timing would be one or two moths after the training: the words just come up from “somewhere behind”, from unconscious mind.

Want to know something from (almost) first hand? My boss says it works!
I don’t really believe him, because at all my naughty English questions (as you may notice from this article, English is not my native language) and blushes and answers: “yes, yes… “. Hmmm… after spending 2500 euros for 40 hour class, all you can say is “yes, yes”. Really worth it???
Ok, I’ll wait another month or two and then ask him couple more questions. Maybe “the knowledge” will settle down.

Let us know about your boss progress so we can learn few languages as well if results are good :)

Today (3 days later) my boss came up with another set of words, when he decided to drop one business. He said: “forget it”. Congratulations on language development :)
