More than 50 Digg users banned - again!
You may return from a vacation, like optimusprime01 (Away Till End Of October) when something hits you direct in the head -You are banned from Digg, man!
No page profile - the only thing that pops out is announcement: “What you are looking for, isn’t here.”
…. WTH is then, if it isn’t here???!!! WTF is my profile? WTF is my page??? WTF, OMG, … and so on and so on… these and many more thought might storm through your mind….
Just because of one reason (and I think you know): SCRIPT USE!
If you were using scripts, my dear Digg Friend, you shouldn’t be as surprised as one might think. Ban spree on Digg.com is not a fresh news and supposedly Digg.com has no mercy. Or as Kevin Rose put it in one of the videos: “I don’t care whether is top user or the millionth user. If you are using scripts, you will be banned.”
And they were…
I am just wondering: were they banned because they used to use scripts or these users continued to use scripts even after the big fuss on Digg (when top users like DiggBoss, Zaibatsu etc.. were banned). If they did - very brave indeed, my friends!
However, if they used to digg with scripts, but stopped violating Digg TOS, personally I see no reason for banning them.
Then again, I hope they will keep the dignity and not come out with the lamest excuse such as… Oh, I didn’t know using scripts is agains Digg TOS.
Here is the list of 50 and more lucky winners that were banned:

I was also banned yesterday, user name OneStepAhead. For script usage. Very rarely used them though.. gotta say i was surpirsed to find myself banned when i stopped using them after i saw the fuss digg was making about it. Only script i was using was one that allowed me to digg stuff from my shouts page.

It’s a relief to finally be banned. See my write-up about it.

I was akpwnz, got banned with the first batch, came back as akpwnzz, got banned for “trying to circumvent a previous ban”.
I asked: “so even if I no longer use scripts, I will get banned because I was banned one time for using scripts”?
Digg is a joke - made a new account and hit the front page that very same day just to spite them. I’m over that site now though.

They also ban people for expressing conservative views *WITHIN* their ToS . . . like most lefties, the only “Freedom of Speech” they support is that which echoes the leftist drivel.

Funny how Bobo spews opinions without giving his real name…chicken shit.

Oddly enough, a lot of the people who were recently banned showed up as blind diggers on humanorbot.com and claimed that they weren’t using scrips.

I was banned, and I think it was by mere association. Most of the people I was mutual friends with were known script-users, so I think they just cleared the whole lot of us who had a decent popularity ratio and were all in the same friend network.
Sucks, but they’re not going to listen. I registered a new account and am trying again. If they pull this crap again, then I’m going to just give up on Digg for good.

This sucks, I’m not waiting for them to ban any more of my friends. I enjoy Mixx and able2know more than digg these days, so I’m done with digg.

Proud script and automation user (heck, vendor!), got banned 10 seconds (faster than a digg page load!) after front paging a story.
The good news is, I guess, that this helped us re-direct our premium (money, boys!) section of our site towards analytics rather than automation. Which is a better competitive advantage for us, if somewhat less, well, exciting than digg p0wning automation.

I’ve been using scripts and OliverTaco’s automation tools on Digg and have yet to get banned. Fortunately I’ve never abused these tools or scripts, so maybe this is why I am not banned. In any case, I will cease using the Shout Page Digg Button script right away.

[...] Digg.com for supposed script usage. Well, as it turns out, I wasn’t alone. It appears that Digg also banned over fifty more of us at the same time. None of us received any warning. No second chances. Hell, even trying to email [...]

Hi
I am working on a site which try to solve many of the problems with digg.com.
You can find it on http://crowdnews.eu.
The main problem with digg is the voting system.
When only top voted stories get on the front page it has
to be a subject that many can relate to,
which result in stories with a low information content.
Crowdnews solves this by using sharing instead of voting.
Every have a personal news page on which they can subscribe to other users and when those users share stories they will appear on the personal news page.
